Stanley "Skeeter" Robert Hojnacki

Stanley Robert Hojnacki (“Skeeter”) passed away on the evening of December 16, 2021 after a courageous 4-year battle with Dementia. Stan was born on July 21, 1952 in Savannah Ga. To Joseph E. Hojnacki Sr. and Alice (Ennis) Hojnacki. Stan was predeceased by both parents and his older brother Joseph Jr. on August 16, 2011. He is survived by his brother Edward and his wife Ellie of Montrose and loving nephew Ryan and niece Madison, his older brother’s wife Regina McCue Hojnacki and nieces and nephew Michaele, Rachael, Joseph III, and Samantha.  He also leaves behind many loving cousins and friends. He adored his family.After the family moved to Buchanan in November 1963, Stan grew up and graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School on 6/21/70 and later on received his BS from Mercy College in May of 1981. Stan had several jobs during his working career but eventually retired from the WC Parks Department. Upon retirement he primarily enjoyed a life of leisure mostly dedicated to caring for his devoted friend “Simon the Dog” which he loved more than life itself. Occasionally when Simon allowed, he would travel and/or play golf.Stan was a beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, friend and known as being a great guy with a heart of gold willing to do anything he could for you. He will be sorely missed. Reposing, Sunday 4-8 PM at the O’Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be held 10 AM Monday at St. Christopher’s Church in Buchanan,NY. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor,NY.
