Rosa Ivonne Serrano Beloved mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, cousin, and friend. Mother of Kacey and Kyra. Daughter of Elba and Jorge. Granddaughter of Rosa, Alfredo, Nancy and Santo. Sister to George and Carlos. Ivonne was a beautiful soul who brought love and light wherever she went. On October 17, 2023, our sweet angel gained her wings at 10:36 P.M., at home peacefully with her family by her side. It would be wrong to say that Ivonne lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Ivonne stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Ivonne. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight. On the bright side, our fighter is no longer suffering and is in heaven with those who have passed before her. Ivonne touched everyone in some type of way, that will always make her unforgettable. She brought laughter, joy, and happiness to everyone she came across. Ivonne was always a family first kind of woman. No matter how sick she was feeling, she always kept a positive and selfless attitude, especially with her two daughters, who were her whole world. Ivonne was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, on January 25, 1978. With her family, they then made their way to the Bronx, NY, where she began her life. In 1997, she became a mother to her firstborn daughter, Kacey. One year later, Ivonne then moved to Peekskill, NY, with her family to start a new beginning. Her goal was to provide the best possible life for her daughter and herself. Thirteen years later, in 2010, she then gave birth to her second daughter Kyra Willow. Now having a new addition to the family, she then worked harder to give her girls everything she didn’t have growing up. She taught them independence, resilience, strength, morals, values, loyalty, and honesty. Although Ivonne is no longer here in body, her legacy continues through her daughters Kacey and Kyra. She is now their guardian angel, and they will live to make her proud. For Ivonne’s Celebration of Life, please join us at O’Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home located in Verplanck, NY. This special day will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 12 P.M. Per the request of her youngest daughter Kyra, instead of black, please wear Ivonne’s favorite colors, pink, white, and/or blue. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to GoFundMe in support of her daughters. The link can be found on her daughter’s Facebook page, Kacey Albino. Rosa Ivonne Serrano, we love and will miss you tremendously. We know you are now reunited with your beautiful mother in heaven. You are no longer suffering and are now at peace.
