Rita Lorraine (Morvant) Siudym

Rita Lorraine Siudym (Morvant) born December 7th 1944 to Rita (O’Connor) and Russell Morvant of Yonkers, NY passed on August 23rd, 2022 at the age of 77 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. In her final moments, she was surrounded by the love of her daughters and their prayers.

Rita was married to her husband Fred for 47 years, and together had two daughters, Nancy Lorraine and Caryn Regina. They raised their girls in Croton-On-Hudson where they lived until the early 2000’s.

Rita loved spending time with her friends and being adventurous and active. She frequented cruises, enjoyed parasailing and zip lining, joined bowling and softball leagues, and even played basketball well into her 70’s.

She was a constant in her grandchildren’s lives, never missing a game, event, birthday or graduation, and loved playing Kings on the Corner and Tiddlywinks with them, even as adults. Notably, she was the reigning champion of Mother, May I, by way of ballerina steps.

Rita will be remembered as mom by Nancy and Caryn, mother in law to Scott, as sister to Regina (aka Lois) and Russell (pre deceased), as Aunt Poodie to her nieces and nephews: Kevin & Gary Masciarelli, Russell, Tracy (pre deceased), Jennifer and Mary-Kate Morvant, as Poolie, Bobby Siudym to great nephew Marchello, as Nana to Joseph Tatavitto, Emily Harding, Erin Harding, and Dennis Cipolla, and GiGi to Kylee Tatavitto.

Reposing, O'Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Spirit Church on Friday at 10:15 AM. Interment, Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers, NY to follow.
