Louise Murray

Louise Murray of Peekskill, NY and formally Buchanan, NY. died on December 16, 2023. She was 81 years old. Louise was born on November 1, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY to Frank and Clara Puglisi. Louise worked as a unit secretary for the Hudson Valley Hospital where she worked for 23 years. Louise loved her family with all of her heart. Her grandchildren brought her such great joy and she was looking forward to becoming a great grandmother to baby Grant, who she would have adored. She was an extremely strong and independent women who enjoyed traveling, was an excellent cook, an avid bowler in her early years and helped the community through various volunteer organizations. Louise won the Westchester County Volunteer of the year award in 1991. She volunteered for 4H, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Hudson Valley Hospital and many other organizations. Louise was loved by many. She had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed. Louise is survived by her sister, Linda Davidson, former husband Bill (Cheryl), children,Sean (Tracy Hoyt), Frank, Jean Gormley (Tom Pastorello) and Anna (Robert Johnson), grandchildren, Sean Jr, Patrick, Lauren, Danielle, Haylee, Emily, Maggie (baby Grant), Nicholas, Sophie, Niamh, Anthony, Eve, Bailey, Sierra and Ryan. Reposing, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the O’Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the St. Patrick’s Church in Verplanck, NY. Interment will follow at the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Verplanck, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Shriner’s Hospital or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
