Joseph P. Slocum

Joseph P. Slocum of Verplanck, NY died on September 4, 2021. He was 89 Years old. He was born on March 16,1932 in Peekskill, New York. After graduating high school, Joseph served in the US Navy from 1951-1955. He was a Master Mechanic at the Town of Cortlandt Highway Department before retiring. Joseph was a Life Member, Ex-Chief and former Commissioner of the Verplanck Fire Department. He was very tentative to his wife of 66 years in numerous projects that she had asked him to do. Joseph is survived by his daughter, Colleen Nolte, grandchildren, Michael Joseph (Hannah) and Jennifer Nicole, an expected great grandchild, and brother, Robert Slocum. Besides his parents Douglas and Anna Mae Slocum, Joseph is predeceased by His wife Katherine, son, Joseph and sister Martha Scott. Reposing Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 4-8 PM at the O’Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10 Am on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Church in Verplanck,NY. Interment will follow at the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Verplanck,NY.
