James Byrnes Jr.

James (Jim, Jimmy, Byrnesz) Byrnes Jr. was welcomed into the loving arms of the Lord on December 1st, 2020.  He is survived by his Children; James G. Byrnes and his wife Janie of Colorado Springs, CO, Timothy P. Byrnes and his wife Sachiyo of Chesapeake, VA, Thomas J. Byrnes and his wife Angela of Keller, TX, and Patricia M. Sharp and her husband Dennis of Frisco, TX as well as 11 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.  He also leaves behind his committed girlfriend, Gerry Tiberi, his Sister-In-Law Dianne Picciano and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Byrnes a pillar and life-long resident of the Westchester-Putnam County area was born on September 20th, 1940 in Yonkers, NY to Olive Powers and James Byrnes Sr.  Jimmy was an alumnus of St. Patrick’s Catholic School and Hendrick Hudson High School.   As a resident of Putnam Valley for more than 50 years, Jim was also a life member of the Verplank Fire Protective Association, Teamsters Local 456, and the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks No. 744.  He retired from Burke Heat in 2000 after more than 30 years of service. 

Mr. Byrnes was predeceased by his brothers Kenneth and William and leaves behind numerous friends who will miss him dearly.

Reposing, O’Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-7 PM. Funeral Mass, Church of the Holy Spirit on Monday 11:15 AM. Interment to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
