Giovanni (John) Mercaldo

On Friday, December 25, 2020, Giovanni (John) Mercaldo, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grand father passed away at the age of 90. John was born on July 31, 1930 in Bronx, New York to Peter and Adeline (Russo) Mercaldo. John was drafted to the Korean war in 1952. On May 4, 1958 John married Patricia Mina and together they raised three children Patricia, Peter, and AnneMarie.

John was skilled carpenter and was the Foreman of Mechanics in the city of New York for many years.  After retirement, Pat and John moved to Melbourne, Florida. John loved to watch and play baseball and was an avid Yankee fan.  He loved spending time with his family Telling old stories of his life. He had quick wit and infectious smile that his grandchildren will miss.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia, parents, Peter and Adeline, sisters Angela Perrone and Lorraine Pietroburgo. He is survived by his sister Norma DiFrancia, his children Patricia West and her husband Todd, Peter Mecaldo and his wife Dina, AnneMarie Martin and her husband Michael, grandchildren Nicole West, Steven and Allyson West, Danielle Martin, Ariana and Steven Alfano, Natalie Mercaldo, John Mercaldo, and his great grandchildren, Adriana West, Michael West, Valerie West, and Melanie West.
