George C. Munson

George C. Munson of Peekskill, NY, passed away peacefully on 6/23/22 and entered into God’s eternal and loving care. George was a very loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and former Yonkers Firefighter of 28 years. George also served his country well as a Sgt. 1st Class in the Army during the Korean War. George was also a very avid and devoted Brooklyn Dodgers fan and spent a lot of time at Ebbets Field when he was young cheering on his Dodgers! He even had the honor and privilege of personally meeting and shaking hands with the great Jackie Robinson. He was especially devoted to his wife of 51 years Carol Munson who he cherished and absolutely adored. George also leaves behind his three sons and 5 wonderful grandchildren. He was an amazing father and was very inspirational to his sons: Jeffrey Munson and his wife Tiffany of Carmel, NY, Brent J. Munson and his wife Mary of Granby, CT, and Scott Munson and his wife Tara of Stony Point NY. George also had an older son, Michael Munson of Quincy, MA who was formerly deceased in 2019. George was a very loving, compassionate, caring and very kind grandfather to Mikayla, Austin, Scottie, Tyler, and Abigail Munson. He was a very hard worker who always put his family first and foremost in his life. He will be forever loved, cherished, remembered, and missed, and will always be in our hearts. A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, July 01,2022 at the Good Shepherd Chapel,59 Benedict Blvd, Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520.at 10 AM.
