Frank G. Wassil Sr.

Frank G. Wassil, Sr., of Buchanan NY, age 88, died on Saturday, April 4, 2020.  Born on October 17, 1931 to Paul and Alice (Munson) Wassil he was a lifelong resident of Buchanan. Frank attended Hendrick Hudson High School.  He enlisted in the Marine Corp on April 11, 1951 and served in active duty in the Korean War until his honorable discharge on April 12, 1954.  He was a lifelong proud Marine to the very end.  Semper Fi.

He married Patricia Miller On September 24, 1955 in Peekskill NY.  He is survived by his devoted wife Patricia (Miller) Wassil, his brother Paul Wassil, Jr. (wife Helen) of Peekskill and predeceased by his brothers Charles Wassil and Robert Wassil.  He is also survived by his children Patricia Ludington (husband Raymond) of LaGrange NY, Karen Roberts of Fishkill NY, Denise Schneider (husband Jacob) of Buchanan NY, Frank G. Wassil, Jr. (wife Melissa) of Verplanck NY, Katherine Stewart (husband Robert) who preceded him in death on February 17, 2018.  He leaves behind eight grandchildren Jason Stewart (wife Trista), David Roberts, Michael Roberts (wife Brittany), Joseph Ludington, Michelle Schneider, Jared Wassil, Jacob Schneider and Brenna Wassil, his four great-grandchildren, Angelina Stewart, Daylin Stewart, Travis Stewart and Everly Stewart as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frank was employed by Con Edison for 40 years as was many of his family members, including his son.  He was a very avid golfer who loved to play the sport.  He loved the Yankees and rarely missed a game.  He was a lifelong member of the Buchanan Fire Department and retired member of the Elks BPOE in Peekskill.
