Frances Kiernan passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2020. As she wished, her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Frances had touched and impacted throughout her memorable life. Frances was born April 29th 1943, in Manhattan, to Roy and Margaret Gilbert. She was proud of her roots having grown up in the Bronx and attended St Helena's High School. She eventually settled in Montrose, NY where she and her family have resided for over 40 years. For many years Frances worked as a paralegal in the Bronx, Manhattan and Westchester and in her later years as a Phone Operator for Northern Westchester hospital and as a school bus driver in Croton transporting special needs children. Frances enjoyed Summer’s at the pool with family and friends and spending the Winter months down in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was also an avid reader and loved taking trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas with her husband and friends. She especially loved her role as ‘Nanny’. She is survived by her devoted and beloved husband of 49 years, James; daughter Fran Dolan; son James Kiernan and his wife Alex; grandchildren Jay and his wife Aliya, Neil, Carter and Charley and newborn Great Granddaughter Emily; sister Margaret Krauss and her husband Daniel; several nieces, nephews and countless friends she amassed over the years.
