Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter-in-law, & friend.

Wife of Jorge Serrano for 50 years.

Mother of three to Rosa, Jorge, and Carlos.

Grandmother of seven.

Sister of many.

Elba was one of a kind. On January 30, 2022, our sweet angel gained her wings at 11:47 AM at the Westchester Medical Center. Elba was strong, she was a fighter, but with all that was occurring health wise, it was just too much for her to handle. On the bright side, our fighter is no longer suffering and is in heaven with those who have passed before her. Elba touched everyone in some type of way that'll make her unforgettable. She brought laughter, joy, and happiness to everyone she came across.

Elba was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico where she met her husband Jorge. On September 18th, 1971--her birthday, Jorge gave Elba the best birthday gift, where he proposed to her and soon got married. In 1972, they gave birth to their first son Jorge jr. In 1975, with Jorge (husband) being on active duty with the military, got stationed in New Jersey where they then had their second child Carlos. When Jorges’ tour duty was over, they then returned back to Puerto Rico where they had their daughter Rosa.

As a family, they soon made their way to the Bronx, NY where they grew as a family. Elba lived in the Bronx for about 16 years, then as a family moved their way up North for the better of their future, where they found their beautiful home at Liberty Street in Peekskill NY. Elba then started her job at Shoprite, now located in Cortlandt Manor, where she soon retired after 15 years.

For those who knew Elba Serrano, we will celebrate her life February 13th at 2pm at O’Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home, 97 Broadway, Verplanck NY. All are welcome.
