Edward F. Stinson

Edward F. Stinson, lifelong resident of Verplanck, died on January 19, 2021. He was 95 years old. Eddie was born November 28, 1925 to Samuel and Mary Stinson of Verplanck. He was a WWII Army Air Corp. Veteran as a B24 belly gunner serving from 1944-1946. Eddie worked for Sun Oil Company for 26 years and retired from the United States Post Office. Eddie was a 77 year member of the Verplanck Fire Department and Past Commander of the William J. Boyle Post #1030 in Verplanck, NY. He enjoyed spending time at the steamboat dock and seeing the eagles arrive along with seeing his friends and neighbors. He is survived by his daughter Patrice Ann Stinson of  Virginia, son Francis Stinson of Verplanck, NY and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Virginia Mary Stinson, brothers Thomas, Raymond and Joseph.Donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, the New York State Veterans Home at Montrose, or A Forever Home Rescue Foundation P.O Box 222801 Chantilly, Virginia 20153 or online at www.aforeverhome.org. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 AM Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Church. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Verplanck, NY.
