Obituary
Bruce R. Van Tassel of Verplanck died on Tuesday, November 29. 2022. He was 56 years old. Bruce was born on July 9th 1966 to Walter and Carolyn (Dohan) Van Tassel. Bruce graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School. He worked for the Town of Cortland Sanitation for 27 years.Bruce enjoyed his family and friends especially hanging out with them in the “Garage”. Besides his mother Carolyn, Bruce will be dearly missed by his loving wife Theresa, daughter, Marissa, son, Christopher, brothers and sisters, Nancy, Mark, Wayne and Audrey Van Tassel-Paxhia and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the O’Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home. Memorial Prayers will be offered at 3:30 PM in the funeral home.
