April J. Ward

April “PeeWee” Ward , of Verplanck, NY died on September 2, 2023. April was born on April 1, 1947 in Peekskill, NY to Frank and Jeanette (Gordineer) Westfall. April was dedicated to her job at Cedar Manor Nursing Home for 32 years as well as weekends at Jerry’s Donuts. April loved talking and meeting new people. Her family was the most important part of her life. No matter what, she was always down for a bowl of ice cream. April is survived by her son Ivan (Shaun) Ward Jr., sisters, Linda Meyer and Katherine Cliotis-Hall, brother, Ricky (Peggy) Rogers, grandchildren, Victoria (Justin) D’Allesandro, Jacqueline (Michael) Cooper, Ivan Ward III, Laura Ward and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Jamie Turner, brother, Randy Rogers and her niece, Melissa Purdy. A Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 9:00-11:00 AM at the O’Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor,NY.
