Anthony John Crisci Jr. was surrounded and physically embraced by his family, when he passed away from diseases that stemmed from 9/11 on April 11, 2021. Just like he dealt with all the experiences in life, Anthony managed his illness with strength and determination and fought until the end.Anthony was born on May 27, 1950 in Manhattan and was raised in the Bronx. Anthony was the first person from his family to attend university. He graduated from Lehman College in 1973 and built a career at the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) for more than 30 years. He was revered and adored by his peers as a selfless leader and was well-liked and respected by the operating personnel who considered him to be kind and fair. As an Assistant Chief Operating Officer he was placed in many areas throughout the MTA and was stationed at Ground Zero for several months following the 9/11 attack. After retirement in 2006, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his children, grandchildren and the rest of his family. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Angel as well as his three children and four grandchildren, Erica (Chad, Anthony and Mariella Mills), Daniella (Nathaniel, Michaela and Mariah Kane) and Anthony John Crisci III (Suneye Koohsari), his two younger siblings and nieces Janet (Attilio and Jeanne Santonocito) and John (Michelle, Taylor & Grace Crisci). He has been greeted in heaven by his grandson Michael Anthony Kane. Reposing, Friday, April 16, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the O’Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be 10 AM Saturday, April 17, 2021 at St. Augustine Church in Ossining, NY. Entombment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
